How to Play Four Card Poker
Do you like card games, especially Poker? Moreover, do you happen to be
a great poker player? If that’s the case you should try the Poker’s
four-card version not to drop behind other card game players! In case
you don’t know the rules, don’t worry! This article is going to present
you step-by-step how does it work! However, if more or less you know how
to play the four card poker, you can still learn some useful tips and
tricks!
Let’s get started with some general facts! Where does Four Card Poker
come from? Which
casino games can be said to be nearly
related to it? Four Card Poker was set forth by Roger Snow, and it is
based on traditional Poker. The game has similar settings: the table on
which it’s played is of the same type, and the shuffling machine is also
the same as for Three Card Poker. However, knowing the differentiating
features of Four Card Poker is crucial to enjoy the game, and to play
successfully.
You should know that just like in three card poker, four card poker also
embodies two games. The principal game is the so-called ‘Ante-Play’ when
players are to compete with the dealer just like in case of a three card
poker. The second game-type is the ‘Aces Up’ for which you obtain
payment according to the presence of a pair of Aces or something better.
The payouts are uprightly stated on the pay-table.
After you know what kind of games Four Card Poker incorporates, we
should move on and explain the rules of the game. The question is how to
play Four Card Poker? You’ll play with a deck of 52 cards on a table
similar to that of
online blackjack. Three circles are
placed in front of each player as follows: ‘Aces Up’, ‘Ante’ as well as
‘1x to 3x Ante’. Four Card Poker begins with each player making his own
bets in one of the two game types or to both. This is done by putting
the bet into the appropriate circle. Don’t forget that in case you wager
on both game-types, your bets must be of the same value!
But why is the game called ‘Four Card Poker’? Paradoxically, each player
will get 5 cards face-down; however they should try to get the best
4-card hand, thus the name of the game. The dealer has 6 cards, and his
aim is also to obtain the best 4-card hand. As the dealer has one more
card compared to players, one of his cards must be with the face up.
One of the similarities of Four Card Poker compared to
Carribean Stud or the three-card
version is that the dealer is not needed to certify, the game can be
continued no matter what the dealer’s qualification is. The game
continues like this: each player looks at their cards and decides
whether to fold and lose their ‘Ante-bet’ or to make an extra ‘Play-bet’
to keep up the game. In addition to these, you should know that you can
only make a bet that at least equals your original bet. Nevertheless,
you can make it three times bigger than your original one.
Another interesting thing that differs from the traditional poker
version played with five cards is the hand ranking. In this game this is
related to some mathematical probability, and differs also due to using
only four cards. The ranking are: Four of a Kind, Straight Flush, Three
of a Kind, Flush, Straight, Two Pairs, and a Pair of Aces.
After all players have made their bets, the dealer turns over everyone’s
hands. In case a player’s hand is better than that of the dealer, then
the player wins both the Ante- and the Play-bet. Otherwise he or she
loses both bets. In case of a drawn, the one who wins is the player, no
matter what the fifth card of the player or the dealer is.
There is also a bonus payment system, but you’ll discover and understand
this easily during the play. Have a good luck and enjoy!
